rezzan gümgüm
rezzan gümgüm (b. 1978, Varto) is a multimedia artist and researcher. She received her BA and MA in art education from Gazi University and completed her PhD in fine arts at Hacettepe University in Ankara. Additional studies took her to the Accademia di Belle Arti di Macerata in Italy and the Complutense University of Madrid. In her artistic practice, she explores questions of displacement, identity, memory, nature, and everyday life, as well as narratives that exist beyond official historical and national accounts. Her work has been exhibited at ZKM Karlsruhe, Spore Initiative and nGbK in Berlin, and Depo Istanbul, among other venues. In 2024, she received a grant through the Berlin Senate’s Istanbul–Berlin residency program.
