Application format

Applications for the course can only be submitted by e-mail from July 1 to September 15. Applications received outside the application period cannot be considered. Please note that we will only send you an acknowledgement of receipt after the application deadline.

Format: PDF format. There is a 10 MB limit on each application. File names for online applications:

During the application process, we offer digital group information sessions. The dates will be published during the application phase.

Application documents

To be considered for the course, you must submit a written application. Please include the following information and documents:
– Completed application form
– Texts for the application:
    – CV / résumé listing previous education, exhibitions, projects and grants
    – brief statement concerning the reasons you wish to participate (motivational letter)*
    – brief artist statement about your own work*
– Portfolio:
    – documentation of your artistic work in the form of a digital portfolio (20–25 pages)
    – film material, only for time-based media (demo version, max. 10 min. length). Please list web links in a separate document (videos should be accessible without registration, e.g. password protected or rated if published on Vimeo).
    – catalogues (if available, as separate PDF: Lastname_Firstname_Catalogue)

* In the spirit of inclusion, we ask interested artists who would like to choose a different form for the letter of motivation or the artistic statement to contact us by e-mail.

All applications will be treated confidentially. Unfortunately, documents and catalogs submitted in person or by post cannot be considered. We do not send any confirmation of receipt and ask you to refrain from making individual inquiries during the ongoing process. All applicants will be informed of the outcome of the process by email.

Jury process

An independent jury of experts selects 15 participants from the pool of applicants on the basis of a twofold process (portfolio / small group interview). The criteria include the applicant’s high level of artistic work and an assessment of the programme’s benefit for the applicant’s artistic career. The jurors’ decision is final.
