Application documents

To be considered for the course, you must submit a written application (in German or English). Applications for the course can only be submitted from July 1 to September 15. Applications received outside the application period cannot be considered.

From 2025 onwards, applications for the Goldrausch course must be submitted via this online form. If you have any feedback or questions, please email us.

We recommend starting to fill out the form early and preparing all required documents in advance. Submitting your application on the deadline day is not advisable, as upload delays frequently occur. Please note that timely submission of the application is the responsibility of the applicants.

Please include the following documents:

Portfolio: A digital file documenting your artistic work (PDF, max. 20 DIN A4 pages, max. 20 MB, preferably in landscape format). It should include photos or visual material of completed works and exhibitions from the last 3–5 years. For film and video material, please include stills and brief descriptions.

Special note for time-based media: For video, film, sound, or excerpts from interactive installations/performances, you may additionally submit a demo version of up to 5 minutes. Please also provide a separate list of links to your time-based works (with passwords if applicable).

Application texts (all combined in one document):
– CV / résumé listing previous education, exhibitions, projects and grants
– Motivation letter: concise explanation of your reasons for applying (0.5 to 1.5 DIN A4 pages)*
– Artist statement: short statement about your own work (0.5 to 1 DIN A4 page)*

* If you would like to submit your motivation letter or artistic statement in a different format, please contact us at bewerbung@goldrausch.org.

All applications will be treated confidentially. Unfortunately, documents and catalogs submitted in person or by post cannot be considered.

Jury process

After the deadline, all applications will be reviewed by an external jury of experts. In a two-stage selection process, the jurors will choose 15 participants: first based on the submitted applications, and then through small group interviews. The selection criteria are the high quality of the artistic work and the meaningful way in which the course program complements the applicant’s professional artistic practice. Legal recourse is excluded.

We kindly ask that you refrain from individual inquiries during the ongoing selection process. All applicants will be informed of the outcome via email. Please understand that the process may extend until December 2025.
