Jane Garbert
Jane Garbert (b. 1988, Berlin) studied Fine Arts at Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) under Thomas Zipp and Christine Streuli. She is interested in the transformative potential of everyday materials. Drawing on observations captured through photography and film, she removes them from their functional contexts and translates them into new poetic visual spaces. Garbert has received, among other honors, the Förderpreis Junge Kunst as well as grants from the Dorothea-Konwiarz Foundation and Stiftung Kunstfonds. Her work has been exhibited at Galerie Vincenz Sala, feldfünf, and Galerie Burster in Berlin, as well as at Structura Gallery in Sofia. She will be lecturing in the Visual Arts program at the Technical University of Berlin in the summer semester of 2026.
